Job and Fellowship Opps (NY and PHL), Penn Law Honoring Alumnae Massiah Jackson L'74, Strokoff L'75, and Isaac L'04

This Tuesday, October 29, Penn Law's Law Alumni Society will be honoring a group of distinguished alums at its annual Law Alumni Society Awards, and this year's group of honorees includes 3 very special alumnae, the Hon. Frederica Massiah-Jackson L'74, Sandra Strokoff L'75, and Nicole Isaac L'04.

Judge Massiah-Jackson L'74, former President Judge of the Pennsylvania's Court of Common Pleas, where she continues to sit, will be receiving the Alumni Award of Merit for her professional achievement and service to the law school.

Sandra Strokoff L'75, the head of the legal office of the U.S. House of Representatives (and the first woman to hold this position of Legislative Counsel of the House of Representatives), will be receiving the Louis H. Pollak Public Service Award honoring her career of advancing justice through service to others.

Nicole Isaac L'04, currently the Special Assistant to President Obama for Legislative Affairs, will be receiving the Young Alumni Award honoring the professional achievement of an alumnus/a who graduated within the past 10 years.

2014-2015 Fellow, Penn Law's Center for Technology, Innovation & Competition (Philadelphia, PA)

Penn Law's Center for Technology, Innovation & Competition (CTIC) is accepting Fellowship Applications for 2014-15. Now in its seventh year, CTIC has established itself as a hub of interdisciplinary discourse on issues pertaining to intellectual property, Internet law, privacy, and related fields.

Aspiring scholars whose research relates to CTIC's work and who have not yet held a tenure track legal academic position are encouraged to apply!

The deadline is January 13, 2014 and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

The New York office is seeking a 2009-2012 Associate to join the Latin American Practice Group in the Corporate Department. Substantial capital markets or corporate finance experience required. Fluent Spanish speaking is required and Portuguese speaking is a plus

2: Class 2007-2008 Associate, M&A Practice Group

The New York Office is seeking a 2007-2008 Associate for the Corporate Department, with strong M&A experience. 3: Class 2007-2012 Associate, Leveraged Practice Group

The New York Office is seeking a 2007-2012 associate with bank finance experience and/or high yield bond experience to join the firm's global leveraged finance group. Client base is highly diversified and includes commercial and investment banks, finance companies and borrowers/issuers. Experience in lending and leveraged finance, as well as experience representing banks and non-bank financial institutions in debt financing transactions, including: high yield bond offerings, senior secured credit facilities, subordinated debt and other mezzanine financings, and asset-based working capital facilities. 4: Real Estate Equity Investments & Development Associate

Outstanding academic credentials (including honors and/or law review — editors especially preferred), superior writing skills, and law firm experience are also required. Japanese language skills preferred.
