Penn is distinct in offering the rare blend of an inviting University campus in the heart of a great city. Benjamin Franklin, founder of the University of Pennsylvania, is celebrated in this statue, “Ben on the Bench,” at 37th and Locust Walk in the center of the Penn campus. A favorite on campus tours, visitors and members of the Penn community often sit down to pose with Ben.
