Dean Ruger expresses his utmost support for the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals

Today, President Joe Biden nominated U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Columbia Ketanji Brown Jackson to the prestigious U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. If her nomination is confirmed, Brown Jackson would replace Merrick Garland, who was recently confirmed as the U.S. Attorney General, on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.

“I’ve known Ketanji Brown Jackson for almost 30 years, and she is exactly the kind of thoughtful and fair-minded judge our country needs today on our appellate courts,” said University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School Dean Ted Ruger. “In 1994 and 1995, we worked closely together during law school on the Harvard Law Review, where she stood out for her brilliance, her ability to work collegially with others, and the high opinion in which she was held on campus. Judge Brown Jackson brings all of those qualities to the federal bench, along with her decades of experience in various aspects of our legal system.
