A “Hidden Collection” at Biddle!

February 11, 2015

The library has just made available in LOLA one of its “hidden” (previously uncataloged) collections, a group of over 3,200 titles on foreign criminal and civil procedure. Of particular interest to scholars of comparative law or legal history, most of these titles are primary materials or treatises published in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and coverage for that period is reasonably complete. Many languages are represented: over a third of the collection is in Dutch, while French, German, Spanish, and Italian comprise most of the remainder. Portions of this collection may soon be available in digitized versions.

This collection is shelved in the closed stacks in Silverman Hall.  Please contact Gabriela Femenia, Foreign and International Law Librarian (215-898-7442) (gfemenia@law.upenn.edu) if you wish to use these resources.
