October 19, 2015

John Hollway was a featured panelist at the Wrongful Convictions Summit held by the King County (Brooklyn, NY) DA’s Office at Brooklyn Law School on October 15-16, 2015.  The Summit gathered well over 200 people, including prosecutors, defense attorneys, students, and media to discuss and learn about Conviction Review Units (also called Conviction Integrity Units), the subject of an upcoming paper to be published by the Center.  The purpose of the Summit was to better understand and learn from various approaches to implementing Conviction Review Units in DA’s Offices throughout the country, and discuss how more CRUs can be implemented and how they can be improved.  Hollway spoke on a panel entitled “The Mandate for Conviction Integrity Units,” along with Kings County (WA) Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg, former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, and National Registry of Exonerations Researcher Maurice Possley.
