Lauren Hoff L’14

Lauren Hoff is committed to representing underserved populations in civil legal disputes, and already has extensive experience assisting such clients in a variety of civil legal areas. In summer 2013, she interned at Friends of Farmworkers (FOF), where she researched and drafted legal memoranda regarding wage theft, discrimination, and other workers’ rights issues. She also performed outreach to immigrant worker communities to educate workers about their rights. During summer 2012, she interned at the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia, performing research and drafting briefs for civil rights cases.

During her second year of law school, Lauren served as the Director of the Penn Law Women’s Legal Assistance Project, a student-run pro bono project that gives community education presentations to women with criminal records on court costs and fines, child custody and public benefits. She also interned for Community Legal Services in the Consumer Unit, assisting low-income clients in a variety of debt collection matters

Prior to law school, Lauren worked as a Paralegal at the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago (LAF) in the Public Benefits Unit. After law school, she hopes to pursue a career advocating for workers rights’ and civil rights. In 2015, she will clerk for the Honorable Cynthia Rufe of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
