Kenisha Askew

Kenisha Askew is Assistant Director of Pro Bono and Social Justice Programs. She advises students on pro bono service, measures and evaluates the impact of Penn Law’s pro bono programs, and assists in administering programming for the Penn Law Service Corps. Prior to joining Penn Law, she was Senior Enrollment Coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region. There she managed mentor programming and led diversity initiatives to serve children and families facing adversity across the greater Philadelphia region. Passionate about service, Kenisha has also provided drug and alcohol counseling to adults at Mercy Hospital in West Philadelphia and direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Kenisha is pursuing her Doctor of Education in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. She earned her M.S.Ed. in Counseling and Mental Health Services from Penn GSE and her B.A. in both Public Policy Analysis and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is also a Gates Millennium Scholar alum. Originally from Plymouth, North Carolina, Kenisha considers herself a small-town country girl with an affinity for scratch-made biscuits and warm conversations.
