George Donnelly L’15

George has been a student at the University of Pennsylvania in some capacity since 2006. He graduated from Penn with a degree in political science in 2010, and while in undergrad ran a mentoring program with the clever name “PennPals”.  After college, George taught for two years in the city of Philadelphia at Maritime Academy Charter School.  His 8th graders were his harshest critics when he was too confident and his biggest supporters when he needed a boost, and he still keeps in touch with many of them.  While teaching, he completed his certificate in education at Penn’s Graduate School of Education.

George worked at the William Penn Foundation, the offices of State Senator Mike Johnston, and Teach For America before coming to law school.  While at Penn Law, George has been active in student life, serving as a board member on the American Constitution Society, Penn Housing Rights Project, and LEARN, an education organization.  He has spent his summers working for Community Legal Services in their Public Housing Unit and Regional Housing Legal Services.  After law school, George will be clerking for The Honorable Stewart Dalzell in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  George’s greatest achievement in life is convincing his fiancee to marry him, and after law school he wants to have a row house and a dog in Philadelphia.
