William Lyoo L’22

William is a first-year student at Penn Law from Baltimore, MD. He began his career as a teacher in West Baltimore, before working as an instructional coach and program coordinator in a partnership program between Johns Hopkins University and Baltimore City Public Schools to revamp STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education across Baltimore City, and as an educational services coordinator with students and families in public housing. During this time, William also became involved in community organizing around city and state education policy and helped launch a local non-profit to combat food insecurity.

At Penn Law, William is part of Service Corps and the Asian/Pacific American Law Students Association. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Tufts University and a Master’s degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University.
