Krystle Salvati L’23

Krystle is from Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from the Macaulay Honors College at John Jay in 2019 where she received a degree in Law and Society. This discipline taught her about the inequality that pervades the American legal system. This realization prompted her to begin interning for politicians and political non-profit organizations. However, she never felt those positions suited her well.

In her second year of college, Krystle interned for the Bronx Family Court under Judge Alma Gomez. There, she found her passion for youth advocacy. Krystle landed an internship with the Legal Aid Society in her third year of college. With the Legal Aid Society’s Community Justice Unit, Krystle learned community advocacy’s importance. She also worked to dismantle New York City’s gang database and assisted in presenting “Know Your Rights” workshops during the same internship.

At Penn Law, Krystle knows she’ll be able to sharpen her advocacy skills, while nurturing her passion for social justice. Krystle is open to different public interest careers after she graduates and looks forward to Penn helping her narrow her choices.
