James G. Welch (L’11) is a Career Advisor in the Office of Career Strategy. James has spent the last several years as a legal recruiter and market consultant for associates and partners in top-tier large and boutique law firms in major U.S. markets. He began his legal career as a litigation associate at Duane Morris LLP in Philadelphia and worked as an antitrust litigation associate at Grant & Eisenhofer, P.A. in Wilmington, DE. James also currently serves as a volunteer attorney with Support Center for Child Advocates and has served on the board of the Pennsylvania non-profit Legal Clinic for the Disabled. Prior to earning his J.D. from Penn Law, James graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Alabama and taught high school for two years as a Teach for America Miami ’06 corps member. Since 2014, James has resided in the Point Breeze neighborhood of South Philadelphia, where he enjoys urban landscaping, gardening and horticulture.
