Quincy Vien L’19

As the son of Vietnam War refugees, Quincy intimately understands the challenges that those from under-served ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds confront while trying to achieve a tangible sense of upward mobility. Through witnessing his family face and overcome various adversities during his childhood, he became inspired to pursue a career in public service and to one day advocate on behalf of families similar to his own. Grounded in the selfless support of his family and countless mentors, Quincy graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he studied English literature. Prior to law school, he worked at the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development. During his 1L and 2L summers, he interned at the Enforcement Division of the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission and at the Western Criminal Enforcement Section of the United States Department of Justice’s Tax Division. Quincy aspires to pursue a career in white collar prosecution. As a first-generation Vietnamese-American, college graduate, and now professional, he is determined to affirm the access that those from less fortunate means have to the many opportunities from which he himself has been blessed to benefit.
