Valerie Baron L’12

Even before graduating college, Valerie was committed to public service.  After holding leadership positions in campus political organizations and serving as a Cole Scholar in the Oberlin Initiative in Electoral Politics, Valerie took time off from school to accept a finance position on the Senate campaign of Floridian Betty Castor.   After graduating from Oberlin, Valerie continued to explore the world of politics by working in the House of Representatives on the Committee on Energy and Commerce and then as the Director of Grassroots Fundraising for the Senate Campaign of Ohioan Sherrod Brown.

At Penn Law, Valerie has devoted herself to the Environmental Law Project, which corresponds directly to her interest in the fields of both environmental and health law and the ways in which they overlap.  She also served as the Development and Symposium Editor for the Journal of Law and Social Change.
