Thrive at Penn Law

Penn Law is more than a law school, it’s a community built on collegiality and the fundamental belief that students are our most important assets. A new video series, “Thrive at Penn Law,” sheds light on the many ways Penn Law students embody those values as they share the strategies, activities, tips, and tricks that have helped them flourish in law school.

Each video features an individual student and explores the unique ways they have learned to thrive during their time at Penn Law. The series will be published through Instagram and you can also view available videos below. 

 

Episode 1:  Collegiality is more than a Buzzword
Penn Law is more than a law school, it’s a community built on collegiality and the fundamental belief that students are our most important assets. Each video will feature an individual student and the unique ways they have learned to thrive during their time at Penn Law.

Episode 2: Bowling League
The second video in our “Thrive at Penn Law” series highlights the student-organized bowling league. The league is a great way for students to get to know one another in a more casual space and make lasting friendships.

In this installment of the “Thrive at Penn Law” video series, Zack Dunn L’19 takes a lesson from Rocky Balboa to help keep his mind centered and overcome the challenges that law school throws at him.

Episode 4: Alternate Study Advice
Darby Tingle L’20 has never really benefited from study groups but did find a process that works for her learning style. In this week’s Thrive at Penn Law video, she shares her study strategy and urges fellow law students to discover the methods that work for them. 

 

Episode 5: Staying inside the lines 
Penn Law students, do you need a strategy to de-stress and refocus your mind?Maybe a coloring book could help! In this episode of the series, “Thrive at Penn Law,” Khari Cyrus L’19 shares how finding a quiet space and a coloring book helps reduce stress levels. 

 

Episode 6: More than a law student
By tapping into her creative side, Molly Wolfe L’20 stays grounded through her love of hand lettering and reminds students to stay true to the people they were before coming to law school. 

 

Episode 7: Take a Load Off
In this week’s Thrive at Penn Law video, Ian Irlander L’20 shares his perspective on the advice that was given to him when he started law school.

 


Episode 8: Finding a Community
Andrew Wilson L’19, Managing Editor of the Penn Law Review, talks about why being a part of the journal made his time at law school so rewarding. 

 

Episode 9: Genuine Experience 
Khary Anderson L’19 has had an amazing experience at Penn Law, but he also recognizes that not all students of color have had the same positive experience. To help ensure that future students thrive at Penn Law, Khary is dedicated to making the Law School a place for everyone.

 

Episode 10: Sing Your Song 
Knowing that being a law student would become a large part of her identity, Francesca Crooks L’19 joined the Penn Law Light Opera Company to express her authentic self and thrive during law school.

 

Episode 11: A Supportive Culture
Aaron McKenney L’19 WG’19 commends Penn Law for its supportive community and the culture within the school that allows each student to make their individual voice heard.

Episode 12: Mental Breaks
