Bio

Yang Chen joined the Penn Law S.J.D. program in 2020. He graduated from Penn Law’s LL.M. program in 2020 (with distinction), during which he worked as an associate editor in both Asian Law Review and Journal of International Law. He also received the Wharton Business and Law Certificate along with his LL.M. degree. He currently stayed in Asian Law Review as an Executive Editor and in the Journal of International Law as a Senior Editor. He is currently working as a Research Assistant for Prof. Andrea (Yanbai) Wang, researching on a project concerning procedural coordination across borders (especially US-China coordination). Before Penn Law, he earned an LL.M. degree specializing in Corporate and Commercial Law from the London School of Economics (with merit). Before his LL.M. degrees, Yang completed his first law degree in 2018 at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and ranked first out of 309 students. During his undergraduate, Yang participated in various volunteering activities as well as pro bono work.
